Cherie has wanted to work with animals ever since she was little and has spent her free time learning as much as she can. Cherie joined Kindness Family Pet Clinic a couple of years ago and hopes to one day become a certified veterinary technician. She has a very big soft spot for pugs; her family has been breeding them since she was little and she has two pugs of her own whom she absolutely adores.

Certified Veterinary Technician

Kathy joined the Kindness family in June of 2012. She is a native Oregonian having worked in the Portland metro area her whole life and has been a Forest Grove resident for the last 19 years. She has been in the veterinary field for 32 years, the past 21 years as a CVT. Kathy lives with her husband, Don, their daughter, Jennifer, and their two dogs: Kari and Sydney. Her hobbies include reading who-done-it novels, gourmet cooking and gardening – her garlic even won first place at the Washington County Fair in 2012!!!

Originally from Des Plaines, Illinois, Ellen moved to Oregon in January of 2012.  Ellen began working in the veterinary field in 2006 in the suburbs of Chicago as a veterinary assistant at Park Ridge Animal Hospital and volunteering at Second Chance Adoption agency. Ellen’s love of animals and passion for their well-being led her to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where in December of 2011 she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences.  Her interests in the veterinary field are predominantly shelter medicine and the emergency care of companion animals.

Outside of the veterinary field, Ellen enjoys scrapbooking, singing, dancing, and reading. She spends her free time hiking the Oregon trails with her fiancé Wayne and their two dogs, Sierra & Taz.  When not out and about, Ellen can be found at home where her lap is a favorite spot for her two very handsome male cats, Dartanion & Finnius.

Paula has worked as a veterinary technician for 35 years and I have now semi-retired to working as a receptionist at Kindness Family Pet Clinic. Besides working with animals, at the clinic, Paula has a few pets at home; parrots, leopard geckos, ferrets, miniature horses, dogs and cats. Paula married her high school sweetheart, Terry, and they have three wonderful daughters and two grandsons. Paula spends her weekends going to dog shows with her daughters and grandsons where they all show dogs.  All three of Paula’s daughters have worked at Kindness Family Pet Clinic at some time. Her middle daughter now works as a surgical veterinary technician at a large specialty clinic in California.

Alicia, Certified Veterinary Technician

Alicia is a native Oregonian, growing up in the West Hills of Portland. She has a Bachelors of Science in Zoology form Oregon State University and became a Certified Veterinary Technician after starting a career in the veterinary field. Alicia has worked or volunteered at several zoos and aquariums with a number of different species and worked in wildlife rehabilitation for a while as well. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at the Oregon Zoo, SCUBA diving, swimming, sailing, and playing with her dog. Alicia's furry family includes three cats and one very spoiled Dalmatian, Briscoe, named after her favorite TV show character on Law and Order.
