I’m the black sheep of the family, as the only Beaver in a long family history of Ducks! After completing my undergraduate degrees in Zoology & Biology, at Oregon State University, I decided to pursue my veterinary degree abroad. This brought me to University College Dublin in the heart of Ireland. I lived and studied in Dublin for the next five years. This is where I obtained my veterinary degree, my cat Bruce, and my husband, also a veterinarian.

After graduation in 2004, we relocated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I took my first job at Castle Shannon Animal Hospital. After a few years I moved on to Bakerstown Animal Hospital in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. While living in Wexford, PA I adopted Tarkin my Shepherd mix, who has been by my side ever since. Six years later I decided it was time to come home to the Pacific Northwest. Our dream was to have our own animal hospital where we could treat pets like the family members we see them as. We were fortunate and after two years of searching the right place came along. Our new home is Kindness Family Pet Clinic in beautiful Forest Grove. We welcomed our first child two weeks after obtaining the clinic, so life was doubly blessed.Working at Kindness has allowed me to pursue my special interests in preventative medicine, pet behavior, dentistry and dermatology. For fun I love spending time with my family, trips to Cannon Beach, scrapbooking, and throwing parties for friends and family.

I attended Oregon State University and received a poultry science degree in 1991 and my degree in veterinary medicine in 2000. I have spent 14 years in private practice and then decided I needed a change. I worked at the Feral Cat Coalition and did relief work in the Portland metro area for 3 years. As much as I enjoyed the change, I found that I missed having regular clients and a clinic to call home. I enjoy talking to clients about everything from puppies and kittens to hospice care. My interest include everything cats and geriatric patient care. When not at work I spend my free time kayaking, gardening, travelling, and watching my girls dance. I am never without a book and prefer fantasy to real life stories. I also share my time with my husband, 3 kids, 3 cats and 4 chickens.
